Wednesday 28th March Industry Forest Tours of Green Triangle Plantations
The plantations of the Green Triangle Region are considered to be amongst the best plantations in the world. This tour will be conducted by Allan Gray, who has been in the industry for 40 years and is still passionate about the forestry industry. The industry tours will accommodate a maximum of 100 attendees and will provide an opportunity for attendees to gain an insight into the management of these plantations.

ForestWorks Conference
AUSTimber 2012 International Conference, presented in conjunction with the Institute of Foresters of Australia, and the Australian Forest Contractors Association "Precision Forestry in Action"
The conference will provide an opportunity to hear from Australian and International experts on a wide range of issues facing the future of forestry from seed to end markets. It promises to be contentious and spark lively discussion

• Charity Auction - The AUSTimber Welcome dinner will hold a charity auction to raise much needed funds for local foster care. A charity that started in Mount Gambier 25 years ago – ac.care – will be the beneficiary with funds raised going to their foster care programs

Exhibition – Day 1
At the forest location on Three Chain Road, just 15 km north-west of Mount Gambier. Featuring indoor and outdoor static sites, in-forest displays and live harvesting and processing demonstrations.

Field Trips- Select from two half day tours, focussing on Softwood plantations, conducted by Allan Gray.
Select from two half day tours, focussing on Softwood plantations, conducted by Allan Gray. The first will include a visit to the ForestrySA nursery which produces 6.5m plants per annum with a mix of open rooted cuttings and seedlings and tubed stock. Discuss developments in tree breeding with geneticists from the Southern Tree Breeding Association.
The second tour will visit a clear fall site currently being prepared for planting in 2012. Observe a range of site preparation equipment in operation and if conditions permit, weed and competition control work in adjacent one and two year old plantations.
